Winter

Snow covered banks in December,
White blanketed mountains stand tall,
Birds of red feather go scouring,
Flying low through white lacings that fall.

Colored diamonds and gems smile gaily,

Across landscapes of hill and plain,

While the song of winter continues,

Summer's warmth must play its refrain.

Well said, good choice in picture as well. Cardinals are one of my favorite birds and particularly so when set against a backdrop of snow.
